Hey, hope everyone is doing great! It’s been a few weeks since I posted. So let me start off by saying HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope you all had a great holiday season. I had 2 weeks off from the day job, which was SUPER nice (LOL). I wrote a couple chapters on The Winter People bk 2 and finished outlining the whole book. So yeah, got a lot accomplished on that front. This one is much darker than the first one so it’s been kind of hard writing some of the scenes. But because of what’s going on with the characters it had to be darker…
I’m hoping to have more information on the release date and such for The Winter People hopefully in the next month or two months.
I’m also waiting on some news on a couple other projects (so fingers crossed on that).
Over Christmas vacation I got to replenish my bookshelf (woot-woot). I picked up:
Crown of Embers by Rae Carson
The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead
Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi
Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers
Iced by Karen Marie Moning
Splintered by A.G. Howard
Snowed In by Rachel Hawthorne
My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century by Rachel Harris
Opal by Jennifer L Armentrout
So far I’ve read Under the Never Sky, The Golden Lily, and Splintered. OMG, you guys have GOT to pick up these books. Seriously awesome. I finished all of them in one sitting (yeah, they’re that good). I love it when I find books that draw me in and keep me thinking about them long after I finished.
I read Splintered last night and let me just say it’s such an awesome book. The characters are flawed and broken and will make you want to root for them. And the setting and description are awesome. It’s about a girl named Alyssa, who can hear bugs/plants talking. Her mother is currently locked up in an Asylum for this very reason (and for something she “did” to hurt Alyssa when she was younger). Supposedly, Alyssa’s family is related to “the” Alice that went through the rabbit hole to Wonderland. The whole story is fabulous. You have the lovely flawed characters of Alyssa, her BFF/Crush Jeb (who is uber hot and an artist), and there’s also Morpheus who kind of guides Alyssa to Wonderland. Morpheus is another dark character. The backdrop is creepy, beautiful, spooky, dark. But trust me, you’ll keep turning pages to see what happens next.
If you read it, let me know what you think! I suppose, I’ll sign-off for now. Have great day!

Have you read Ghost Flower by Michele Jaffe. Just looking at your reading list, it seems like the kind of thing you might enjoy. I ask because I just finished it recently and really enjoyed it.
I hope you have a great year writing-wise (and life-wise, of course!)
No, I haven’t read that one yet. I’ll have to check it out. Thanks so much for dropping in!
Wow, SPLINTERED sounds really cool! Thanks for the list. Will have to add some of these to my to-read list.
