Oh god this is so embarrassing. In my defence let me say it was the seventies and I was only six. Still, I can’t believe I’m actually admitting this, it was Little Jimmy Osmond!
Good luck with your book Rebekah, I look forward to reading it…and the next, and the next and the next dozen or more after that. Lots of love.
Thanks Pen! LOL–hey nothing wrong with your crush! You’re talking to the girl whose first crush was on Luke Skywalker (hehehe). Thanks for dropping by and thank you SO much for your all your encouragement and emails and well critiques! Hope your kids are feeling better! Rebekah L PurdyBlog: Writer Adrift
Oh my gosh! This 1st crush topic made me go way back in time .. to kindergarten!! I had a crush on Gage Sippy. We rode the same bus home from morning Kindergarten and we woud sit in the back seat and hold hands. Too funny. I think my friend Sandy would hold his other hand!! I bet he thought he was hot stuff with two 5year old girlfriends!
LOL-you’re too funny Tricia! Well my first “real” crush (that wasn’t a movie star) was actually the son of one of my dad’s best friends. His name is Jamie. I used to ride four-wheelers with him, and I played Dungeon’s and Dragons with him a few times. But I was too chicken to ever tell him I liked him. I still see him from time to time at weddings etc. But yeah, he was just so nice and cute and well, cool!
I don’t think he ever knew I had a crush (although the constant drooling should’ve given it away). Rebekah L PurdyBlog: Writer Adrift
So excited to get to read this, lady! Whoo hoo! And a HUGE CONGRATS!!!!!
Thanks Miranda (Min). I so, so, so appreciate you stopping by! As you know, I’m a huge fan of yours too! Thanks for everything (the emails, the help setting things up). You’ve been so awesome with everything ((HUGS))… Rebekah L PurdyBlog: Writer Adrift
First of all, Congrats Becky! Im really looking forward to reading your book!
And on the first crush thing… Well, i dont know who my first crush was. I cant remember that far back. But the first girl i remember having a crush on moved in down the street from me in 7th grade. She lived in foster care and was always surrounded by her sisters and i never really was able to talk to her alone, being as shy as i am. But i ended up “going out” with her (if thats what u call dating someone for 2 days) because of a bet made by her twin sister. She ended up moving away that year and i never thought id ever hear from her again. But last month, a full 5 years later, she just showed up again. We talked on facebook and then i went to hang out with her and had one of the best days i have had in a long time. I cant exactly call it love, but some people are definitely worth remembering. 🙂
Sorry that was so long… Haha
Jared,
So glad you could make it out here! And I think that’s cool that you met back up with the same girl all these years later. I hope all is going well with your senior year!!!
Thanks so much for commenting and for wanting to read my story! Hope to see you guys soon…
First celebrity crush… Christian Slater. Watched Gleaming the Cube and totally fell. (Yes I realize I’m dating myself with that admission)
Real boy crush… oh my oh my… (The parentals will tell you it was a boy named Donny that was the son of family friends when I was in pre-school, I’m not buying that.) I am going to go with the one I remember. Skater boy named Brian. Drool central. All I’m saying.
Congrats Becks!
((HUGS)), thanks for stopping by Joey (LOL about the crush). Well I did like Jordan Knight from New Kids on the Block too (totally forgot about that one). Grins! Thanks so much for dropping in! Rebekah L PurdyBlog: Writer Adrift
My first crush ended up being my best friend’s boyfriend 15 years later. Too weird! lol.
I actually stopped by to say that I’m giving your book away on my blog 🙂

My first celebrity crush would have to be Clint Eastwood. I still like to watch him, always seems so cool. LOL
Great Job with the book! I knew you could do. You are a great writer. Congratulations and can’t wait to read it.
