Soooo, today I’m revealing my book cover for my newest book that’ll be coming out on February 10, 2015. This is a YA Contemporary Romance…lots of funny stuff (if I do say so myself). And some of the stuff from their family vacation, I may or may not have based off of real family events (LOL).

How to Unbreakup (3)

Book Blurb:

First rule of breakups: There’s no going back.

For three years, seventeen-year-old Grace Evers has regretted breaking up with Sage Castle.

That day, she lost her boyfriend and best friend. And let’s be honest, it’s impossible to just be friends with the one person who gets you, faults and all, and loved you anyway. It’s impossible not to think about how it felt to be held by him, or the way he looked right before he was about to kiss you with the most perfectly yummy kiss goodnight.

And now that things are over between them, they’ve become strangers to one another. Sage won’t even look at Grace, let alone talk to her!

Breakup life sucks and Grace is utterly miserable, doing whatever she can to ease the pain of losing Sage. She’s spent the better part of high school pretending to be something she’s not and hanging out with people who probably wouldn’t notice if she wasn’t there. Crappy dates, backstabbing friends, and Sage’s cold shoulder have taken their toll.

So when her parents propose going away to a house on Lake Michigan for the summer, Grace is thrilled. No more massively bad dates with horrible kissers or lunch with frienemies. Just three months of swimming,  hiking, and relaxing before senior year starts.

But when Grace learns Sage and his family will be joining them, she readies herself for a totally awkward family vacation of disastrous proportions. How can it be anything but awful if Sage won’t even acknowledge she exists?

This is it, Grace’s last chance to get Sage back and unbreakup.

And here we are into November! So sorry I haven’t posted in a while, but September and October were CRAZY insane! I had book signings (sometimes a couple in one week). So I was on the road a lot and got to meet lots of awesome readers, writers, and other authors.

The small book tour I did this fall was my first ever and let me tell you that I was HOLY nervous for my first signing—and then for my first speaking event (ah). But I made it through. Seriously can’t tell you how awesome it was getting to talk to readers. It was so cool that people wanted to come meet me. Sometimes they were nervous to talk to me (which totally seemed alien to me because I’m the most normal person in the world). To my own kids, I’m just there mom, who also happens to write.

I wanted to also thank everyone for the fan emails, direct messages, messages, and tweets over the last couple of months, seriously, they mean so much to me. To hear how much people are loving this world I wrote about and the characters…

So I thought I’d share a tiny little bit of news (for those of you who didn’t already know). The Winter People will have 2 more books in the series. The 2nd book, as of right now, is titled: Summer Marked. I know TWP had a pretty satisfying ending, so it’s not like there was a cliffhanger or anything like that. But the 2nd book kind of lets us explore more of the characters from the 1st book. Some characters who had more stories to tell. There will also be the introduction to some new characters who I’m SO excited for people to meet. This 2nd book is darker than the first. We do have a tentative release date on that one of August 4, 2015 (so less than a year).

Anyway, just wanted to share that bit of information with everyone (will share more when I’m allowed to). I will hopefully have some other good news to share soon.

But for now, I’m going to share some pictures from my book signings below (I had more pics, but my daughter’s phone had a malfunction and she lost a lot of photos she had saved on it—sniffles).

Phew, so the end of April and these first couple of weeks of May have been pretty crazy. Not gonna lie, May has been a giant bear. First of all we’re enjoying soccer season with the kidlets, they’re doing awesome (and kicking butt on the fields-LOL), but there’s been LOTS of running. I’m kind of forgetting what my house looks like (LOL).

Had some more insane writing deadlines (which I made—woot-woot). As I told my crit group, I swear The Winter People is cursed (hahahaha). It’s like everything that could go wrong or come up with that book has happened. So I’m hoping that this means only good things to come when it releases in September. Oh, and I can’t wait for you guys to see the fabulous bookmarks I had made for it.

I’m still working on writing book 2 for Legend of Me (which I don’t have a firm release date for yet, but I’m praying it’ll still come out this year as previously planned). Also, I’ll have another YA contemp coming out early 2015 entitled How to Unbreakup! It’s super cute and fun and I can’t wait for you all to read it.

I also have a *secret* project in the works with a few other authors. Hoping that everything comes together on it. But I’m really excited about it. *crosses fingers* we’re still in the “planning/plotting/figuring out” process on it.

And, I FINALLY joined pinterest, so if you’d like to follow me there you can. Pinterest link: http://www.pinterest.com/rebekahg22/

Hope everyone has a brilliant week and is enjoying Spring so far! Will try to get out here more often (in between deadline stuff).

Hello my lovelies! Autumn is in full swing here in the Purdy house. I’ve gotten to chow down my favorite apple cinnamon donuts from our local apple orchard (they’re SO good, not even kidding—LOL). I celebrated another birthday (woot-woot), which means I got to add more books to my pile (hehehe). We’ve got a few more weeks of soccer left before we move into our next sports season. It’s been non-stop go-go-go. But, it’s fun watching the kidlets play. Not to mention we have some orchestra and band stuff on the horizon as well.

I’m working HARD on a few writing projects (yes, that’s right—a few). I just finished outlining one project, I have to outline another and I have 3 books due to be written in the next year (AHHHH). That doesn’t include the 3 books that’ll need to also be edited. Yeah, so I’m thinking perhaps I might have to say goodbye to sleep and hello to lots of caffeine (LOL).

Over the course of the next 1-2 months we should start seeing some bookcovers/blurbs too (SQUEE—THIS MAKES ME VERY HAPPY).

Also, I’ve FINALLY set up my Facebook author page. Which, is kind of naked at the moment, but will have stuff added to it as I get more book info (covers, blurbs, release dates, pics etc). So if you’d like to pop over and like my page, that’d be TOTALLY FAB! I always feel weird starting new things (blogs, twitter, FB stuff). Because those first few weeks are always kind of lonely (LOL). So yeah, hope everyone is doing well. In a couple weeks I’ll be having some of my agent mates stop by to do a guest post (which you don’t want to miss—because they’re awesome).

((HUGS))…

Hi my lovelies! I hope everyone is doing great. The new job (day job) has been INSANE and has been keeping me CRAZY BUSY. Hoping things get back to normal soon, although, I’m not sure I know what normal is anymore (LOL).

Soccer season is nearing its end. Only 3 more weeks. However, we have tournament the weekened of the 8,9, and 10th. It’ll be fun but massively tiring.

I’ve been turning in paperwork etc on The Winter People (yay). So excited for this book. It’ll be out some time in late 2013. In the next few months I’ll have more details to share on that.

On the writing front, I’ve been slacking a bit (I know, I know–hangs head). But, I am in the midst of planning bks 2-3 for TWP so I have a good reason. This does mean I’ll have to set My Dad’s a Paranormal Investigator 2 on the back burner for now. But I swear, I will finish it. I love the characters too much not to come back to it.

And all my shows are ending for the season WAHHHH!!! I already miss the Vampire Diaries (stares longingly at picture of Damon Salvatore). Ugh! And they cancelled The Secret Circle (WTH). I really liked that show…I swear, sometimes I hate starting new shows because it seems like every time I like one, they get rid of it (GRRR).

My summer shows will start soon though (True Blood/Destination Truth–woot-woot).

Well, just wanted to check in and let everyone know I’m alive and kicking. Oh and for those of you who are always bugging to know what I look like, I finally got my author pic ready (LOL). And here it is…

It’s OFFICIAL!! SQUEEE…I have signed with a new agent: Jennifer Mishler of Literary Counsel.

I know some of you might be like WTH, I thought you already had an agent? Well, to keep it short and sweet, we parted ways a couple of months ago. There was no dramatic break-up or anything we just had different visions for my stories/writing. I wanted to stay true to who I was as an author and decided it was time to move on.

All I can say is that Jennifer is FABULOUS and she loves my stories as much as I do. The good thing about going through this before is that I had a VERY good idea of what I wanted/needed this time around. So when I entered the query trenches, I made sure I kept those ideas in the back of my mind.

I remember the first email I received after Jennifer read my full. She told me how much she loved TLOM. She indicated she’d wanted to read through it again to take some notes.

Then came the next email that indicated she wanted to talk with me on the phone (holy wanted to faint at this point). Our call went great (well except for the part where I actually forgot one of my character’s names—LOL, luckily she was cool about that). Jennifer asked if I’d be willing to revise a couple things. I agreed. I did some brainstorming with my crit group on Friday night-Saturday then went to work. I finished the revision up rather quickly then on Weds I got another email indicating she liked the changes and she offered representation. At this point, I had to get with the rest of the agents who had fulls/partials. After some phone calls/emails/chats with agents, Jennifer felt like the best fit. Not only did she “get” my stories, but she knew the YA market.

SO VERY THRILLED to be working with Jenn!

And on a side note, I am blogging at Astraea Press today. If you stop by you’ll be able to see a pic of me dressed as Princess Leia (hehehe). GO STAR WARS!!!!
