OMG, I can’t believe it’s finally here. The Summer Marked is officially out today!!!! This is the 2nd book in The Winter People Series…

TheSummerMarked-500x750

Fresh off a break-up with her boyfriend, Kadie’s glad to be home from college for Thanksgiving. All she needs is a  rebound guy, a box of chocolates, and some girl time with her best friend, Salome. Problem is, Salome isn’t returning her calls, and her family won’t say where she is. Feeling sorry for herself, Kadie ends up at Club Blade, a place filled with pumping music, dangerous  guys, and promises of a good time. However, when midnight strikes, Kadie’s fun turns into a nightmare as she’s ripped from the human world into Faerie by a vengeful Winter Prince named Etienne. For the first time in her life, she realizes the monsters Salome always spoke of are real, and they’ll stop at nothing to destroy her friend.

Salome thought the winter curse was behind her. But winter has left its mark. Not just on her, but on the whole summer court. The Kingdom of Summer is falling apart, and Nevin is hanging onto his throne by a thread. With war on his doorstep,  he has no choice but to send Gareth into enemy territory, which means Salome will be left alone—vulnerable in a world she doesn’t understand. A place where beauty is deadly and humans are pawns in the macabre games the Fae play. Both Kadie and Salome will have to call on all their strength to survive in  a  world where humans aren’t meant to be. With death and enemies all around them, it’ll be a miracle if they can survive.

It’s the end of soccer season (holy crap it went so fast). So I’ll actually be able to come home after work for a few weeks! Woot-woot. Next up, basketball season. LOL. Our seasons are driven by what sports the kidlets play.

Okay, so I have to say that I’m totally LOVING Once Upon a Time, Haven, and Vampire Diaries (SQUEEEE). I’d been counting down all summer for September/October to hit. At least with sports being over for the time being, I can play catch up on all my shows. Oh and I should also get more writing time in.

Still plugging away at The Winter People bk 2. I’m about ¼ of the way done writing it. So far it’s going pretty well. I’m doing 2 POVs in this book as opposed to the 1 I did for the 1st book. Can’t wait to get this one cranked out, that’s for sure. Other than that, I’m playing the fun “hurry up and wait”. Hehehe—those of you who are familiar with the publishing industry know exactly what I’m talking about.

I’ve read some good books lately: Obsidian & Onyx by Jennifer L. Armentrout. I’m currently reading The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater. I have 2 more books in my TBR pile at home, then I’ll have to start checking books out from the library again (LOL).

Hope everyone’s having a FAB Autumn so far! ((HUGS))

Oops, just got an email alert that The Fairy Godmother Files is now available in paperback on Amazon.

Hello and HAPPY SEPTEMBER! Well, here we are, back to one of the busiest seasons in the Purdy household (Fall). The kidlets are back to school and sports are once more underway—which means long days and lots of running! But I have to admit, it’s one of my favorite seasons too. There are soccer games to watch, leaves changing colors, football games (go Lions), cooler weather, and overcast skies (which so helps me write—LOL).

Writing has been kind of spotty again (sigh), but mostly because I’m trying to brainstorm and jot down different plot notes for TWP book 2. There are so many small things that I want to make sure I get into the story and not forget. But one of the POVs is getting far more notes than the other one, so I have to go back in and make sure I’m spending as much time with the other character (hehehe—that’ll teach me to write a book w/2 povs).

I’ve had several emails as of late asking me about my other books and whether or not I was planning on writing follow up books/or continuing the series. The answer is YES-ABSOLUTELY!!! All three books that I currently have out with the smaller presses are planned as series. When I sold these particular books, I only signed on for 1 book at a time—so I’m not currently contracted for the other books yet, however, that being said, I do plan on finishing them out. Book 2 for My Dad’s a Paranormal Investigator is actually already started, and book 2 for both Staking Shadows and The Fairy Godmother Files are both plotted out, but not written yet. Right now, I’m under contract for The Winter People and the follow up books (as in all 3 have to be written within a certain amount of time). So I’ll have to focus on those first, but once I get those under my belt, I promise to go back and finish up Ima, Sun, and Maggie’s stories. I pretty much know how each series will end, just a matter of sitting down and getting them written.

I want to thank all the people who have emailed me or sent me messages on Facebook regarding my stories—it’s been lovely chatting with you. I’m so glad that you’re enjoying my stories as much as I do!

Oh and if you’re looking for a weekend read you MUST MUST MUST try to pick up Born Wicked by Jessica Spotswood. Seriously. This has been one of the best YA books I’ve read this year. It’s kind of like an alternative history having to do with witches—there’s romance, magic, *kissing*, and a FABULOUS story line.

Hope everyone has a FABBITY FAB FRIDAY/WEEKEND! ((HUGS))
