Phew, these last couple of weeks have been crazy! The kidlets went back to school, soccer started back up, and I had a book release! I want to thank everyone for their support during the release of The Winter People. THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone who has read it, tweeted about it, posted on Facebook about it, reviewed it (both good and bad reviews) and reached out to me to chat about it. I’ve gotten a chance to meet some new people (reviewers, bloggers, readers, authors) and it’s awesome.

While we’re on the subject of The Winter People, yesterday one of my agent mates informed me that The Winter People actually made it to #26 on the hot new releases for young adult and teen ebooks on Amazon! So THANK YOU FOR THAT!! Seriously can’t express my gratitude enough.

And to answer a few questions that have been coming in via email/twitter/Facebook/Goodreads/DMs:

Are there more books in The Winter People world? YES. There will be 3 books total set in this world. The next one, I believe will come out at the end of next summer (I believe August 4, 2015–but this date is subject to change). We’ll get to see more of some of the characters from TWP and also meet some new ones (some not so nice–LOL).

When is The Legend of Me coming out? I’ve actually been asked this a lot lately (grins) and I wish I had a good answer for everyone. But at this point I have a floating release date. There isn’t one set in stone, it’s just a matter of being able to fit it into the publishing schedule. I’ll likely find out 1-3 months before it’ll release and when I do, I’ll let everyone know. Trust me, I’m dying to get it into everyone’s hands as much you’re dying to read it!

BOOK SIGNINGS: For those of you asking where I’ll be for my book signings, as of right now I have a few set up, but they’re all in Michigan right now. I’m hoping to get some out of state ones set up in the future and I’ll keep you posted on those! As of right now these are the ones I have on my calendar:

Horizon Books in Traverse City, Michigan September 27, 2014 from 2-4 pm (address is in my news tab)

Fremont Area District Library in Fremont, Michigan October 16, 2014 7-9 pm (this will be a signing/speaking event–address is in my news tab).

B & N in Rochester Hills, Michigan on October 25, 2014 7pm (this will be a panel w/5 other authors see news tab for address).

I might have another one in Grand Rapids, MI at the Rivertown Crossings Mall/B&N on October 14th. Still waiting for all the information on that one.

So definitely drop into see me if you can! Would love to meet you!

Hope everyone has a lovely day!!! ((HUGS))…

OMG, SOOOOOO…I’ve been waiting for today for a long time now for The Winter People’s release, but it’s finally here. I hope you enjoy reading this book as much as I enjoyed writing it. This book started from a small seed–or rather a short story I wrote my senior year of high school for my creative writing class. I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has read it and reviewed it and to all those who will read it in the future.

Make sure to stop in at some of the blogs this week as I’ll be giving away some Emergency Winter Kits, which will include–some super cute mittens, a coffee mug, hot cocoa, gift card, chapstick, flashlight, a cute crystal rose…stuff to survive winter (which is coming).

Summary from Goodreads:

An engrossing, complex, romantic fantasy perfect for fans of Kristin Cashore or Maggie Stiefvater, set in a wholly unique world.
Salome Montgomery fears winter—the cold, the snow, the ice, but most of all, the frozen pond she fell through as a child. Haunted by the voices and images of the strange beings that pulled her to safety, she hasn’t forgotten their warning to “stay away.” For eleven years, she has avoided the winter woods, the pond, and the darkness that lurks nearby. But when failing health takes her grandparents to Arizona, she is left in charge of maintaining their estate. This includes the “special gifts” that must be left at the back of the property.

Salome discovers she’s a key player in a world she’s tried for years to avoid. At the center of this world is the strange and beautiful Nevin, who she finds trespassing on her family’s property. Cursed with dark secrets and knowledge of the creatures in the woods, his interactions with Salome take her life in a new direction. A direction where she’ll have to decide between her longtime crush Colton, who could cure her fear of winter. Or Nevin who, along with an appointed bodyguard, Gareth, protects her from the darkness that swirls in the snowy backdrop. An evil that, given the chance, will kill her.
