Book Cover Reveal for French Fries With a Side of Guys…

Eep, so this is a book that’s been in the making for over 10 years. I wrote it in 2006 and then shelved it. Then when my publisher was asking me about another YA Contemporary Romance, I decided to try and clean this one up. So now, everyone will get to meet Payton Carter–and her brothers…Did I also mention this is a sports book? And Payton plays football?

Blurb:

Payton Carter is one of six kids (all of which are named after famous football players), not to mention the only girl in the Carter household. With this much testosterone and no mother, it’s no wonder she’s absolutely clueless when it comes to makeup, dances, and talking to guys she’s crushing on. And now she’s about ready to start her freshman year of high school, which is nerve wrenching enough, but when she ends up running into her crush, Chance Montgomery, at her dad’s sports restaurant, she finds out that the quarterback for their rival team is moving to Aller Falls. This is nothing short of fate.
Payton realizes she has to find a way to impress Chance and get him to ask her out or at least know she’s interested in him—preferably without dropping a plateful of fries on his head, like she did last time. And maybe talking will lead to something more permanent or at least to a first kiss. Only this plan backfires in ways she never imagined, when she beats Chance Montgomery out of the starting quarterback position. Now not only does she make him the laughing stock of the team, but also has to figure out how to avoid the snotty cheerleaders, a traitor best friend, not to mention winning games for her team. Too bad this is just the beginning of her freshman year.

Book News and Catching Up!

Okay, so obviously it’s been awhile since my last post. Life sometimes gets SUPER busy and I have to stay off social media (LOL). First of all, I have some news to share (woot-w00t) 🙂

I’ve sold another book  (AHHH-so freaking excited). It’s entitled: Incriminating Dating (YA Contemporary). It’s described as Election meets Can’t Hardly wait. It’s set for Winter 2017 publication date.

We’re only a few months away from the release of The Winter’s Spite (the 3rd and final book in the Winter People series). And I’ll have a YA Contemporary entitled French Fries, Football, and My Freshman Year coming out tentatively October 2016. And next year I’ll have more books coming out (YAY). So lots of busy things.

So if I’m kind of quiet on here, it’s not because I don’t love you guys, it just means that I’m trying to plow my way through 3 book deadlines (1 that needs edits-lots of them (hahaha), another 1 that is only like 1/10th of the way written and it’s due to my editor in June, and I have another 50 page proposal I owe another editor for a book by May. So yeah, plate is kind of full). Not to mention I have a day job that keeps me away from home for about 12 hours a day (between long commute/and working). Plus we have soccer season in full swing, we’re planning a graduation party for my son, and we have another son who is getting married in a few months.

I promise though to try to keep you updated with any news or awesome things that’ll be going on 🙂

The Summer Marked is out TODAY!!!! HAPPY BOOK BIRTHDAY! AND CONTEST…

Happy SUMMER—Contest—Books—Legend of Me update…

Hey my lovelies,
I hope everyone has been having a FAB summer. Mine has been speeding by…the kidlets have been busy with band camp and soccer stuff and college application stuff and my step daughter got engaged (SQUEEEE)! Lots to celebrate!

On the book front I’m in the midst of starting the 3rd and final Winter People book. I have lots of cool stuff planned to give it a proper “sendoff” / ending (LOL). I’ve outlined a good portion of it, but will also be working on Legend of Me edits over the next 1-2 months as well. YEP YOU HEARD RIGHT!! Legend of Me WILL see the light of day hopefully in the next 6-12 months (I know still a wait). My new editor and I talked a little bit about some things with the book and I’m really happy with our ideas. So the fun part is to come (the rewriting/editing).

Oh and before I forget, in less than two weeks The Winter People ebook will be going on a sale (BIG SALE)—LOL…and I’ll be running some contests during that time, so make sure to check back in with me during the next few weeks for announcements. Also, we have about 1 month until the release of The Summer Marked (Winter People bk 2) and I’m SO SO SO excited to have everyone read it. Release Date Change for The Summer Marked

Okay my lovelies, I wanted to keep you updated on the writing front. My book The Summer Marked (2nd book in the Winter People series) has been pushed back a month to September 22, 2015. There are many reasons for this move. But one of them is that I had a family emergency earlier this year with one of my kidlets. And this happened the same day/night I got edits for The Summer Marked and was in the midst of edits on Daisy and the Front Man. Unfortunately, emergencies don’t take book deadlines into consideration when they happen.

I’d taken a couple weeks off of work to try and be at home and take care of my child. And due to the stress and things we were going through, my book/edits had to go on the back burner a couple different times. In order to make sure that I put out the best book possible, and not try to just rush through everything, my publisher and I thought it best to move the book out a month.

While things are getting better for our family we still have our up and down days. But we’re praying the worst of it is behind us. All I can say is that mental illness is NO joke and you can’t imagine all the up and down days that come along with it.

Just want to thank all my readers for their continued excitement for my books–I apologize that this one will be a month later than first planned, but hopefully you understand. Thanks so much and can’t wait to chat with everyone about The Summer Marked. Oh, and Daisy and the Front Man will still release on schedule (June 16, 2015).
